Hole 17

Hole Description

A dogleg right from a tee tucked into a narrow chute between the trees. Once clear, the fairway is generous, but the approach must navigate “Mario’s Hole” (the water pipe junction box) and a domed green that can be tough to hold.

Playing Notes

Aim for centre fairway off the tee — it gives the widest margin for error on both hooks and slices.
Recovery options are usually available thanks to the open fairway.

The green accepts misses on all sides, but beware the bush behind.

Stopping the ball requires height or finesse; otherwise it may bounce off the dome. Sometimes the sensible play is a long putt from off the green to secure a good score.
